Hello everyone,
I am a mother of three children, living in New Zealand studying part time at the Unitec here in Auckland. I am 31 years of age and found my first day at school a bit daunting and intimidating due to huge age difference in the class.
I thought that I should just get myself home back to the kids and the soaps and forget about going to school again after so many years.
But found the courage and persevered and what do you know a year later and I'm still hanging in there although now have decided to go part time for this semester to try and keep a balance within my family life.

Hi there... I too am an oldie (36) but don't you think it is an advantage to have life experience, it certainly helps with the psychosocial aspect of the studies.

Ahhh. Don't let the age difference bother you. I'm 46 and finally made it to my senior year. Fortunately, I'm really not the oldest one in my class. My instructors tell me my "maturity" is a real asset in nursing.
You'll do great, and when you need a shoulder to cry on, just log on here. You'll be amazed at the support you get.
And welcome. :)
Thanks for the support and encoragement
