goodmorning zoe, sarah, augigi, and tweety,

well so far so good. Went walking this morning, heard a much needed sermon on the radio, listened to music, dropped 1st son at school, hubby is out the door, and 2nd son is watching Clifford.

As usual the food will be my big challenge today. I think I will eat cereal for breakfast, if I can find it.

Gentle, sounds like your walk was wonderful. That's interesting, you're the second person today who has told me they have recently heard a sermon that they really needed. I have been listening to Christmas Carols and I think it is really helping my spirit. I am trying to get into the mood of the season, but is has been slow-going. I'm working on it though. :) I am with you on the food thing - but I am all proud of myself, I managed to pass up the brownies that trickled into the office this morning - yeay!

LOL Zoe - you have such a great outlook. I do remember how hard things were going for you and I am so happy that things are moving in a better direction for you. It seems that our parents are right (sigh) . . . life is full of ups and downs and it takes quite a bit to get through the downs, but the ups are so worth it!

Tweety, when I read your post, I thought I was accidentally reading mine - my sentiments exactly, just keep going through the holiday and then worry about fixing the body. Probably not the best move, but better than giving up alltogether.

I seem to have lost so much of my motivation and I don't know why, I did great for so long, so I'm not quite sure what the deal is. Phooey!

Gentle & Augigi, have a great day, hope to hear from both of you lots!!!

Well guys, another test tonight - so off to study in between clients today! Have a good one!

Hi Sarah,

Have you tried just continuing to exercise and relax with the diet? This has helped me immensly.

I lost a lot of motivation after I first tried getting back into a more healthier lifestyle. I decided that I put too much pressure on myself to lose weight and did not give myself enough room to enjoy life. I also lost motivation because it was sooooo hard to change the family diet AGAIN. (We went through the gluten free casien free diet for 3.5 years.)

Sooooo, now we are all just living. I try to be a bit careful about what I put on the table; but, I am just continuing to walk. I am also finding it easier to tell my children that we are going to the park; and then take them.

I hope this helps to explain what I have tried to do and doesn't sound pushy. If it does sound pushy, I am sorry. If this sounds cryptic, I apologize, my sil called and I am multitasking.

Way to go gentle. I'm going to relax on the diet for a while too, but try to show some restraint like Sarah did!

I walked the dogs today but was too busy for much else.

Hey Sarah -

Welll if you recall I was TOOOO up for a while there in January, in a manic state... I am hoping to prevent that this year and I have coping skills now that I didn't have then :) Highs, lows... I have to avoid them :nono: and stay in the middle as much as possible, even tho the highs can be fun at first :(

Parents are right... sigh, yes. About some things they are ha ha

As to the test, good luck, and I am always amazed to think - geee, I used to study too! Am glad I don't have to lol - maybe someday I will get brave like Tweety and go back...

Hi Gentle

Welll I keep hearing that word today, "walking", sigh... time to add that back into my regimen - altho I do run my butt off at work!!

"...Going to the park", lol - good idea! When I used to walk more (before it was so cold!) I would bribe myself by stopping at Dunkin Donuts at the bottom of the hill (yes, just for coffee, I don't have too much trouble with the donuts, they are yukky).

I am thinking of getting that Gazelle machine by Tony Little (I think), anyone ever tried that?

What do you have for dogs Tweety?

I almost got one last year (part husky part black lab, an older one) but my landlady said he was too big. I thought it would be good to help me be more active, aside from the fact that I fell in love with him LOL

But it is good I didn't get him, too. I can hardly afford my stupid cat.

Yes, she is stupid. But I love her too :)

Okay Zoe,

Now that is hilarious. My friend had a dog that they called Dumb Dumb. And yes that dog was dumb. They love Dumb-Dumb. Though not to smart, that is the most loving "piece of fur."

My girlfriend decided she is going to make slippers out of her cat when he dies. He is nice and furry. :lol2:

Gee Zoe,

I forgot you are in Maine. Hmmm, I don't know about the gazelle. Is there a health club that you can join--for a limited amount of time--to try out different pieces of equipment? This way you wouldn't have to worry about purchasing something and then not enjoying it. Not to mention trying to ship it back.

Hey, maybe one of your friends at work has one that you could try for a month or two. Heck pay them a couple of bucks for the use of their equipment or barter with them.

Let us know how that turns out.
