Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.

This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.

It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

So watch out for the dognuts...

Oh, I almost forgot! I have been off sugar and flour for 4 days, plus or minus, feel great - eating all the right stuff - trying not to be anal about it... I am sick of feeling horrible, running out of wind, my arches getting squished (and feeling ugly, of course...) - pray that I can continue!

Of COURSE I get this conviction RIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS! arghhhh...

Hi everyone! Sorry, I am here and gone again.

You are so right Tweety about the 'when school ends . . . ' I really am beginning to wonder if I will know what to do with my time when that happens - LOL!

Thanks for all the well wishes on my test you guys - I got a 95 on the final - WooHoo!!!

I will be out again tomorrow for a pre-op appointment and then gone all next week, back after the holidays.

Well you guys, I have been truly horrible - I got on the scale this morning and found I had gained 10 lbs!!!!!!! Ok, that's definitely enough of that! I am off to the store as soon as it opens to buy some salad. Enough feeling sorry for myself and gorging on horrible foods - that's only making it worse. I did manage to do great on my test, but I passed the class with a 91.25 and an A is a 93 - phooey, my first 'B'. Oh well, at least I survived. :)

Zoe - I know what you mean about the sugar cravings before the holidays - it's awful. We will prevail though, I'm sure of it!!! (er . . . I hope so anyway - hehe).

Jahra - how are the dance classes coming along?

Ok y'all, I am going to walk down to the health mart to deliver some information on one of my client's to the pharmacist, it may be 24 degrees out there, but I need the exercise!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving y'all!!!

Hi dollink, LOVE the avatar picture, is it of anything/anyone in particular?

I have gone almost a week without sugar/flour, I am HURTING all over and that is probably why... not having too many cravings (it is EATING that stuff that makes me crave! altho I have "Precious Memories" of sugar when I'm not eating it, if that makes sense!)

Congratulations on your tests/schoolwork, I am so proud of you liebchen (however you spell that...) :pumpiron:

What do you have off for vacation? and if you want to PM me about what the surgery is, I can put you on my prayer list -

xoxoxo

Thanks Zoe! LOL - I don't remember where I found the avatar, but I like her too, she's listed as an autumn fairy I think, the red frilly things behind her are supposed to be wings. She's who I'd like to be - hehe. SDDLNSCP is actually all of my initials (yes, I have weird parents), hence the bizarre-ness of it. :p

I am proud of you too for being strong enough to avoid the sugar, you are doing awesome!!! I have got to do that myself - I will!

I actually don't mind saying on here - the surgery is not really that big of a deal (at least, so they say), I am having a uterine ablation (the microwave version) which is supposed to help make things work properly in my body again. I hope so because I am sick of what it has been doing (usually about 14 days of solid, extremely heavy flow followed by about a week off and then all over again). So this should make life much better - yeay! Thanks so much for the thoughts & prayers!!!

I don't know what we're doing for the holidays, but I will be out of school and taking a week off of work so I can spend time with my kids - no definite plans, just mostly hanging out with the little loves of my life. :)

Oh yes, you told me about your name a couple times, just meant the picture. Got that CRS disease eh? (teasing you)

The sugar thing, it is all by the grace of God - I have quit things before. Alcohol I never had to pick up again after 1985 (WAHOO!) - cigarettes, those have been a you-know-what, but I have 10 months this time. Sugar and flour are pretty poisonous, I think - I once had 2 years TOTALLY off it and my weight and health were great!

So as to grace of God, I pray for willingness, God opens a window and says "JUMP!" and sometimes I do jump thru it - and other times I chicken out because I think I "need" that junk. Things are going really well for me this year in general - mental health and etc., and I think it's cuz I am "jumping" thru those windows He opens a lot more often now.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday and I am glad your surgery won't be too major! Never heard of the procedure tho, is it a lot of pain afterwards?

God bless Sarah!

Zoe, thanks for understanding. It hasn't gotten the best of me yet. :)

I haven't exercised in a week, but I've been busy with other things so I'm not going to beat myself up. I promise myself to go to the gym tomorrow.

Zoe, congrats on having the strength to say away from sugar. Addictions can be hard to break.

Sarah, I made my first A- after 11 classes that were A's, so I can understand a bit, because the "minus" came from a couple of things I bombed. Keep up the good work. Sorry about the weight gain. Good luck with the surgery.

"Oooh, he smiled, did you see that?" (Zoe gushes and claps her hands with delight) ... lol

Zoe, just don't ever ask me to "Smile!!". I hate when shiney happy people walk up to you and say "smile!!". LOL

I'm doing well. I went to the gym and worked out for the first time in a week. I made some veggie lasagne with low fat cheeses and whole wheat pasta. It was quite good. :)

Tweety, I am one of those sunny people, but I won't ask people to smile, or try to yuk them up. I hate that too, I can be perfectly content, maybe even humming to myself or thinking something pleasant, and someone will stop me and say "SMILE!" Well, that inner smile just deflates, and boy do I get mad: "I AM smiling you stupid nutcake!" LOL

Good for you, all those great choices! I still haven't had sugar/flour and I even went out to eat with my dad and stepmom last nite!

One of my downfalls is extreme hunger when I am on my way home from work -- will often stop to get something quick, or expensive (usually both). And so I've gotten in the habit of bringing a piece of fruit in the car to eat on the way home, it helps!

So tonite I had a huge salad with chunks of Extra sharp cheddar cheese (the cheese not the best choice but better than half a cow! and I didn't have a whole lot of it), and I made some spanish style yellow rice (I LOVE yellow rice!) ... - after that a nice cuppa "light" coffee (half decaf) - I am feeling better already :)

That's great Zoe. The trick is to find what trips us up and nip it in the bud. I have so many "triggers" sometimes I feel like my life is a mine field. LOL
