I'm trying it out soon. Will let you all know how it goes if anyone is interested.

Hmmm maybe this would be good for me!

I have! I loved everything about it! I lost weight and inches. There was this one person at work who was more than a handful. I always pictured her face on the punching bag. Worked wonders!!! It really is a fantastic stress relief!

I did a few workouts with my son's MMA coach before I had my colon surgery - I found it very useful especially on those days when I just had to hit something. Sadly the gym closed due to the econmy and the free lessons stopped.

I started kickboxing about two months ago and love it!!! I cant say that I have lost a lot of weight but I am already a healthy weight so my body could be at a plataue or something. however my body is much more toned and I feel great. I am in much better shape. and it is such a good stress reliever!

I boxed a few years before, so yes I still do it on my rougher days. :)

No, but I want to. I have used a punching bag much like 1, but more just wailing away, no real direction. I heard if you do it correctly it is an amazing workout.

Do you have gloves, OP? When I did box I borrowed my friends' pink EverLast gloves (which were way too adorable, but made me feel like a badass girl as well!)

My best friend kick boxes and she is in amazing shape.

I did boxing in the Marines for my last year in. I was a sparring partner with the guys that went for tourneys and such, so I trained hard and loved it. Picked it back up a few months back, and I now train 3 times a week. I'm seeing a huge improvement in my physique, so not only is it a great stress reliever, but it's a confidence booster, so it'll help prevent some of that stress in the first place.

A word of caution, though. I wouldn't spar too frequently, and give yourself plenty of time to recover from hard hits. As such, I'm never entering a competition myself.

Punching bags don't hit back!
