I am getting ready to take Health safety in a few weeks, I have TCN guide and it's HUGE!!! It seems there is a lot of info on nursing dx in this study guide as well as Ericsson heirarchy of needs ect. Has anyone recently taken this exam? If so how long did you study and what materials did you find helpful? I plan on taking the practice test in a week or so.

I slacked off a bit after my first exam because my kids were SO BUSY in school/sports it was tough to study, but I'm back in the saddle now that they are finishing school!! ;)

Thanks!!

I used TCN, some my LPN books, Saunders NCLEX-RN study guide. I made an A...and I found it to be the easiest nursing exam for ECE. If you are LPN/LVN, it is basically a review of LPN/LVN school and a lot of the questions just use good nursing judgement. As far as Erikson, I cant remeber how in depth that test was on that...it's been a few months...plus i've started studying for CPNE, so my brain is in overload

Def take the practice test though...they are sooo worth the $

Good luck with the CPNE! How long did it take you to get there?? I'm hoping to be finished within a year and a half.

I started studying April 18th and took the test on May 22nd. I thought the practice tests were harder than the actual test. Not much on erikson that i can remember, i got an A though! I used all the recommended text books just a version or two behind the one out currently. that was all i used.
