Someone comes in complaining about blood being in their stool every now and then for about 6 months (sometimes light and sometimes heavy). What could this be an indication of?

The reason you won't have got a reply is that we are not allowed to diagnose or give medical advice on this board. If someone has these symptoms, they need to see their PCP stat. It could be so many things from trauma to major consequences to absolutely nothing to worry about, so they need to see a doctor for a consultation

Could be anything from a small tear in the tissue to a hemorrhoid to end stage colon cancer, and everything in between.:uhoh3:
