HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

Published

Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?

I might have to take a microbiology lab to satisfy the 4-credit requirement. Some schools allow you to apply for nursing while you're finishing up some per-requisite courses, but acceptance is contingent on completion of the course. Is that the case for HCC?

Yes, in order to apply, all prerequisites need to be completed.

@ucfashley as long as you had the prereqs done by August 15 you should be good to go. I ended up doubling up on classes in the end to have all the classes done in time. My last three classes ended on the 8th of August so I made it by the skin of my teeth.

Cant believe I've waited this long and haven't gone crazy. Few more weeks !

I hope we know by the first week of October I really couldn't take anymore lol have you noticedbthat we're the first cycle to wait "8-10 weeks " for acceptance rather than "12-15 weeks " . I wonder why .

I do and Im so glad we dont have to wait as long, lol. I think that they are giving people more time to finish pre-reqs, ie august (after summer school) and Jan. for after fall semester.

The timing of the orientation seems to be the same, i guess to give time for background checks, physicals, immunizations, uniforms, etc. - which I am happy they aren't delaying!

Again, just speculation, but thats just what I have pieced together. Im counting down the days and trying to stay busy though! :whistling:

I heard they were trying to shoot for earlier notifications so the orientation could be conducted sooner. I guess the last cycle was tight getting everything done in time for the January start.

I am on pins an needles for you all! I want to know what kind of contender I will be when I apply (of course I am rooting for you all on getting in, too :sarcastic:

I can't take this waiting anymore!!!

I can't take this waiting anymore!!!

Thank you! I've been dying to post and say the same thing but I figured nobody else is anxious, lol. The past month has passed quickly and now the last two weeks are dragging! !!! :crying2:

Specializes in CNA so far.

Omg I feel the same well next week hopefully we know if not we have waited this long it shouldn't be too bad!!! My husband will

be on vacation for his birthday so I can bug him about the wait I'm so anxious and nervous for us all because we all worked so hard for this. So before we all receive our results I would like to say congratulations because we are going to be nurses before we know it!!!!

I think I'm out of the running guys. I don't think they are accepting my Micro course because it's a 3000 level course :(

Good luck to you guys! Wish you the best
