HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

Published

Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?

I honestly think we are making ourselves crazy and creating these scenarios . lol spring has always been low on applicants . especially since the teas started in 2015 . just relax guys if you have a 3.3 and above we should be good !

4.0 for my pre-reqs.

I'm sure you wont have any issues getting accpted with a 4.0

I know you're right, lol. It's the anxiety. ... madness, bahahahahaha. :D

When you guys have letters sent out, can you do an updated list of who was accepted and what GPA? I am worried about where I will stand when I try to apply (hopefully) for the fall.

Sure! I'll update when it's all said and done. Fall applications, though, are normally higher in number than in the spring. But with the new TEAS, who knows!

New TEAS? What does that mean?

New TEAS? What does that mean?

TEAS is changing to a newer version so that's the exam that new applicants will have to take.

That's confusing, I think since your MCB is a higher course it wont transfer over on it's own towards your degree reqs, but if they see it on your transcripts they can decide whether or not it can be counted for the program and go from there? Not much to do but sit and wait :sorry:

yes. Indeed. One of the pre-health advisors emailed transcripts for me to find out but they told her they aren't releasing any info until after the decisions are out. I know it doesn't show on your requirements but is it listed on your transcripts when you check your HCC transcripts?

The new TEAS is exempting all the science that was not relevant to the health science. It also allows you to use the built in calculator for the math portion.

Yes it shows up on my transcript

I might have to take a microbiology lab to satisfy the 4-credit requirement. Some schools allow you to apply for nursing while you're finishing up some per-requisite courses, but acceptance is contingent on completion of the course. Is that the case for HCC?
