HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

Published

Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?

I've been stalking the spring 2016 thread and they got there letter the second week of September . I don't get why they got there's so early

In the past they had to submit their applications like June 1st for the Spring and May 15th for the Fall, or something like that. They had to wait 12-15 weeks... so we are luckier than the past cycles, lol

Morning ☺ well my information just updated right after i posted so i made an edit lol

Awesome! Lol.

I received an email back. .. no confirmation for me. .. now I'm more nervous because they had an increase of applications this cycle! :(

Here's the email:

Students who submitted an application for the Nursing Program Spring 2017 term, August 15th, 2016 deadline date, please read below.

*

We understand that students are concerned and would like to know about their application but due to the increase in volume of applications for the Nursing Program for the Spring 2017, we will not be responding to student inquiries about applications, transcripts, supporting documents or status until the final notification of status into the program is sent.

*

If your WebAdvisor do not shows any codes about your application, it means that your application packet has not been processed yet. If on the contrary, your WebAdvisor is showing an "ASAP" or "Not Received" notification and below it has the message UNDER REVIEW", it means that your application is in progress” and the code will not be closed until all admission requirements have been completely evaluated.

*

NO confirmation of receipt, NO update/s on applications/transcripts/supporting documents or status are available after the program deadline until the final status notification.

*

Final/official status notification into the Nursing Program will be send electronically to your HCC HAWKMAIL account. We suggest applicants to monitor their Hawkmail account during the first week of October 2016 for status updates.

*

Thank you for your understanding and patience,

I hope that is just a blanket email that they are sending and it really isnt a increase in applicants

Does anyone have an idea about the increase in applicants? I thought someone posted that the spring usually has less applicants?

Usually every spring semester is low on applicants . I'm getting very nervous now

No I didn't get any updates on MCB in webadvisor, but I wasn't expecting to until after decisions go out. I'm concerned about it, but I know that emailing isn't going to help anything, so I'm just trying to be patient.

Also - yes, typically the numbers in the Spring applicant pool is lower than the Fall pool (this is true for most programs) BUT in the most previous year the Fall pool had less than the Spring pool. Imagine like ~250 in Spring compared to 190 for the Fall. So while it is normally the case for Spring to be lower than Fall, it is not always the case.

The other HCC pre health advisor got back to me and she informed me that she believes it's ok for my MCB to count for theirs.

That's good news! When I spoke to an advisor before I was told that it wouldn't be updated until after admissions into program. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you though!

Same thanks! What happened yesterday was weird. I had credits transferred over I guess when they first looked at my transcripts? Then I checked Monday and they entered more grades. it seems the ones they added were ones that didn't have a course equivalent? But MCB wasn't one of them.

That's confusing, I think since your MCB is a higher course it wont transfer over on it's own towards your degree reqs, but if they see it on your transcripts they can decide whether or not it can be counted for the program and go from there? Not much to do but sit and wait :sorry:
