Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?
Izzies cna is actually great to have that way you have a feel for patient care. That's all cnas do the dirty jobs the lpn and RNs usually hate except in a hopsitalsetting where RNs do it all. I know being a cna you get to know the patients on a different level but they are often underpaid and overworked oh and not to meant treated like trash depending on the company. I mean I loved being a cna but once I become a nurse I will have so much more gratitude towards cnas because I have been there before.
This totally depends on the setting. The majority of RNs that I worked with were excellent and always helped. I had maybe 1 or 2 bad experiences but the majority were good. The dirty work is the RNs job no matter what. You will be cleaning patients, turning, ambulating, etc.
I wouldn't get too worried about not finding a job after graduating. I think its a good idea not to work during school if you can afford it. Prior hospital experience is helpful but certainly isn't necessary for landing a job. I would be more concerned about being successful in the program.
Not that you can't contact them but they send you blanket emails and when I went to the office I got major eye rolls. Technically there documentation says they will not give updates on status after 15 August. I still email if I have a question. Hopefully they won't get too pissed off, but it helps me relax a little bit. I always form questions in a generalization and not specific to my own stuff. A lot of us have the same questions so generalization works.

Thanks. I guess mine is really specific. So waiting is the best choice
Maybe, it is just up to you. I asked about no records showing up under my documents, there response: we are still completing the evaluation of applicants. Due to the large volume of applicants under review it may take some time for your records to update and reflect accordingly under my documents.
I know others have asked about the date of notification and stuff too, they got emails. It's up to you what makes you comfortable. I really don't mind the eye rolls because I know they are use to it, the email responses are really generic so I don't know if they really read them or just send out the email as a response. I know it is crazy stressful, I can't wait until October.
