HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

Published

Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?

Do you know how we get ranked with TEAS? sorry...so many questions lol

No worries on the questions - but your score on the TEAS does not rank you at all. As long at you get above a 60% you are eligible for admission. If you are below a 60% score, then your application will not be reviewed for admission. Admissions ranks by prereq GPA, if there is a tie for admission then overall GPA will be used.

I wish the TEAS was used for ranking, but unfortunately (fortunately for some, I'm sure) it is basically pass/fail.

Darn. I did really well on it! Do you know if the TEAS is a good indicator of NCLEX pass rate?

I understand your pain, I did really good on it too!! I have no idea if it's a good indicator, but I think HCC recently put up stats on pass rates if you look at their nursing site!

Can you link the stats page?

Heres is the link to the page: Important Program Information - Hillsborough Community College - HCC

If it doesn't work, or they delete it, then go to HCC's nursing website and the information is located under the tab "Important Program Information".

Also breroses - I saw your post earlier about decision timeline. Decisions are made between 8-10 weeks from application deadline. That would be October 10th - 24th, although someone did mention earlier in this thread they were told decision would be made by October 1st.

I hope this is helpful!

alexpenn- thank you! And fantastic, I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this discussion board around that time to see when people start hearing!

Yes guys they actually emailed me back saying the first week of October because of all the other requirements needed and orientation being the end of October. I am banking on the first week but regardless we have to wait. I just wish it flew by already I hate being so antsy about it.

My anticipated date says 9/29/16...

Sorry i'm late, just reading through the comments. I see you all have my GPA correct, a 3.4, that's the pre-reqs. I want the plant city campus for days

I have a Masters

I wonder if having a degree increases the chances of being accepted ?
