Greetings all,:wink2:

Anyone in here receive a letter yet to show up for orientation for Pharmacology at Houston Community College?

I got mine yesterday, but it does not say what to do if you want to attend the fall class. This letter is for orientation to the summer class.

My question is do I just show up for the orientation and tell them there that I prefer the fall class, or should I send someone at the school an e-mail about my preference?

(I am very happy I got this letter because it means I'm accepted into the program so long as I do well in the pharmacology class :yeah:)

did you originally apply for the fall 09 nursing program? if you did, you have to take the pharmacology class over the summer.

i got my letter via email yesterday (since it was returned back to them via mail). pretty exciting!

Hi beverlymh,

No I didn't apply for the Fall 09 nursing program. I went to an info session in January and was told there that they no longer let people in right after finishing Pharmacology class. You now have to wait a semester between a finished & passed Pharmacology class and starting the nursing program if you're accepted. So, if you go this summer you don't get in until the spring of 2010.

I thought I had applied for the Fall of 2010 but I don't remember now. Truthfully, I didn't think it would be this fast. I still have to take Micro too. Another thing, I didn't expect to pass the entrance HESI on the first try and with no studying at all. I don't intend to attend the Pharmacology class this summer. I sent them an e-mail confirming I would attend the orientation anyway but asked them to put me in the Fall 09 class.

The lady sent me an e-mail reply and said that I would be put back in the pile to be re-qualified (go through the same selection process as before). I thought that was odd but whatever. The summer pharmacology session is TOO SHORT for me, I prefer a regular semester. I already have the books and that class looks REALLY difficult:eek:

oh weird. i definitely signed up to start fall of this year. i went to an info session last april or so and they didn't mention that. i guess with all the people applying they've changed the rules.

Yes, they did change the rules, at least it's what we were told back in January. They said it was too difficult to do it that way and in a timely manner.

Good luck in the class and in the program!
