KCC ADN Spring 2017

U.S.A. Hawaii

Hi everyone!

I am planning to submit an application for KCC's ADN program for Spring 2017. I am just waiting to finish my Pharm 203 over the summer before putting my app in.

My stats aren't too good

Teas - 80.7

Pre-req - 1 B and the rest are A

Co-req - A in humanities, pending on Pharm 203

Health-related exp - been working as a CMA for 2.5 years. With a current CNA certification. Last CNA exp about 2-3 years ago.

I am going to meet with a counselor sometime next month just to kinda see my standing. But I am wondering how everyone's stats look like. Kindly post, if you don't mind.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I guess so. I don't think its that much thou. I'll just attend the orientation and see from there.

You will prolly get yours in a day or two

I'm anxious now. I only live a mile and a half from school. Wondering why I didn't get my letter today as well...

Oh. The letter was date October 11. You may receive yours today.

Alt listed too. More waiting. See you at orientation.

Makes me wonder how many students they've taken for Spring 2017, and how many are on the alternate list. Hows our chances of actually getting in the program given that we are on the alternate list

Well it seems they take less and less students each term. Not sure if this is because they do not have enough instructors...idk. But based off of how many ppl registered for classes these last two semesters, they may only be accepting around 24 students. I read on another thread that they have about 10-20 alternates. I guess we'll find out for sure in a month. We are at a disadvantage with it being spring. In fall some students also apply to UH and choose that over KCC leaving openings for alternates.

Yeah. I kinda figured it would be more competitive this upcoming sem since Manoa only accepts nursing students for Fall.

Do you know if we'll get another letter if us alternates eventually don't get selected to be in the program?

I'm sorry, I don't.

A late reply, I just checked my P.O. Box today. I got alternate listed as well , and it seems like you guys will be a higher priority than me. From what it sounds like, I think KCC will only notify you if they are able to accept you. It also doesn't seem likely that many alternates will get in, since I think its unlikely for someone to not meet the requirements. They would have to fail to get their health clearances or not be able to handle the financial costs :dead:

I got in!! Was on the alt list but got my acceptance letter today. í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚Happy tears!

Congrats Livy. So happy for you. í ½í¸Š

For the orientation, did you print out the handbook or you'll just bring an electronic copy?

You are way ahead of me on that one. I'll probably print it out since I like hard copies
