Has anyone worked at Village Hospital, Greer SC?

Published

I was visiting a friend at this hospital and noticed that there are very few patients. There was no one on the fourth floor which is there medsurg floor. I was wondering why. Does anyone know the reputation of this place? do you know the nurse patient ratio, is it really slow paced? what is it like? I am asking because I was considering applying there. Other than that, the place looks really nice and is real close to where I live so any information on it would be nice. Thank you.

Hi,

Just wanted to suggest you post this on the South Carolina board under "Region", you might have a better chance of getting a response! :) Good luck to you!

IHADN'T HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. GREER IS HALF WAY BETWEEN TWO GOOD HOSPITAL AREAS, (sorry new keyboard) I believe it's part of the SPRTANBURG HEALTH CARE SYSTEM WHICH is top notch.

You could apply or even ask for a tour. It looks to be a pretty facility, though I haven't been there myself.

(Please forgive my keyboard, I really can type well)

This is merely my opinion....

The Village hospital is a "feeder" hospital for Spartanburg Regional Health System with it's flagship hospital being Spartanburg Regional Hospital. The Village hospital was created (again my opinion only) as an outreach nearly to the furtherest reaches of spartanburg county. Incidentally it is only a short distance from one of Greenville Hospital System's Feeder hospitals (Greer Memorial Hospital) - and until the Village hospital was constructed, Greer hospital (for the opposing healthcare system) had a near monopoly on the patient draw from that area.

Anyways, that hospital (The Village) has only been in existence for a few years now and typically, if a patient needs admitting for something which needs more specialized care, they transfer the patient into Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Basically, my understanding is that The Village hospital is pretty much just a basic needs, generic type hospital. It is rather "botique" in appearance (IE: Nice Looking) - but that is the standard these days in new hospital design.

Now this is not to mean that one shouldn't go there if they have an emergency or that there is no reason to NOT go there if one's MD admits there. I'm sure the care is just as good for most routine hospital admits.

Hope this helps.

I don't know anything about it but it looks very nice on the website.
