Has anyone waited longer than 2 years to get into the Los Angeles Pierce nursing program?

Published

Hi I'm wondering if anyone has waited a while before winning the lottery at Pierce I've applied twice and gotten a waitlist number in the 40's so it's never gunna happen. But I really want to get in to this school since it's down the street from my house. I just want to know if anyone has waited even longer ?

Waiting two years before starting your education? You're wasting your time. Get in any other program (credible) and get your license.

I have to agree with ArmaniX, you need to look into other programs. I believe there are 11 colleges in the Los Angeles CC District, most of them have RN programs with similar pre-reqs, apply to as many as you can.

The down fall with lottery is there you can be qualified for the program and never get in because of luck. I've read of people waiting SIX YEARS before getting into a lottery based program! You can still apply to Peirce next application cycle but you definitely need to apply to at least 1-2 other programs.

Attending a school that is right down the street from you is definitely convenient but not always realistic. I actually turned down a school that was about 15 minutes from me and attend on that is about 30-45 minutes away for a few reasons, including I would start and finish sooner with a BSN.

Just think of it this way. When you're an RN are you only going to apply to one hospital because it's down the street from where you live and wait with no job or without applying anywhere else until they call you?

Good luck!

If you have the grades... Do NOT wait on a lottery program. I got into every school I applied to with the exception of LACC, which was.. Guess what? A lottery program!!

The amount of pre req information you use in nursing school is tremendous and waiting several years to get into a mediocre program is going to make you lose that knowledge... Also pre reqs expire after 5 years for most schools and you're already more than 2 years in...

DO NOT WAIT!!

Thanks for your advice guys I'm totally applying everywhere this year I really shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket :chicken: 'm going for Mt St Mary's too even though it's expensive but in the end it all worth it ☺️
