Hey everyone,
I am currently an Adult Acute NP student in CT and am unhappy with my location. Has anyone considered or found success with transferring to a different school? I would like to be out on the west coast, CA or perhaps AZ. I have lived in CT most of my life and I am afraid I'll be stuck here after I graduate. Secondly, has anyone dropped out of a program to pursue travel nursing? Any tips or suggestions?

I switched from CRNA to NP.. When transferring programs I could only find programs to take 9 credits at most.. Depending on how far u have gotten it might be better to stay and complete.

I have not transferred, but I am doing research on it. I currently go to NYU, I love the school and I love NYC, but it is just not a practical place to live anymore. My lease is up this summer and my landlord has already informed me that he is increasing rent $200..I am already living paycheck to paycheck. Good luck with this process. Unfortunately, most schools only accept 2-3 transfer courses or 6-9 credit hours max. I feel stuck, because while I am barely scraping by here, I don't want my hard earned work, time, and money wasted and to have to repeat those efforts.

I was thinking of transferring too. My fiance is in the military and when he returns from deployment and we wanted to get married. He's based in CO and im in PA. Unless i transfer we will be separated for my last year of school. I looked at different schools and most do not take many credits and i would hate to start over. All i have left is my thesis and a year of clinical.
I have a friend who was going to move for family reasons. She only had a semester and thesis left. Her school was gonna work with her, let her finish clinicals in PA. They said they could do that since most of the clinicAl time was done in Mo. Might be some thing to look into so it would not have to be a full year to be apart.
thanks for the information i will look in to it...this would be a great option for me:)
Thanks for the replies everyone! After getting through this past semester, I've decided to stick it out in CT and finish my last year here (I'm hoping it'll fly by). Secondly, I am currently in the acute care program and juggling the idea of switching to adult primary. I just finished a cardiothoracic ICU rotation and am unsure if I see myself working in that environment, granted you don't have to work in an ICU as an adult acute APRN...any suggestions? Thanks!
