I took practice exam and I did find it helpful. There is so much material to cover and it helped to see how in depth the questions may be.
I studied from the School Nursing: Comprehensive Text, Certification review book and Manual of School Health as well as position statements set forth from the National School Nurse Association. Oh btw start your preparation early....several months. Good Luck!

I googled for National School Nurse Association to see if I'd missed something but all that comes up is National Association of School Nurses. Whew!
NASN - National Association of School Nurses - NASN.org
I went to their national convention in SF in June. They have a new text on school nursing.

Here in CA you have to have a BSN to be hired and then the state gives you a temporary credential and you have five years to go back to school to get a real one. It takes another year of school and $15,000. I'm not sure if I'm going to do that and may just leave school nursing by the end of 5 years.
As to the NCSN . . . . I hadn't heard about this until I read about it just now. This is a way to get your credential by getting certification? I'm kind of confused.
I've been looking at Sac State's School Nurse Credential Program.
What's the difference between certificate and credential related to school nurses?
