I am taking the NCLEX-RN in a few short weeks. From my understanding, the NCLEX has changed some this year, mainly by only using generic names for medications. I was just hoping for some insight regarding the new test plan! Good luck to others in my shoes =)

Its May, definitely many people have taken the NCLEX this year including me. Yes, its all generic names for the drugs, not trade anymore. Every test is different and the questions are different, but if you visit the website it will provide a guide of what contents are included in the exam and the percentage of each category. For example, safety and infection control would be 18% of the test (just an example). Its good to know what categories and how much they count. Good luck!!!!

Go to NCSBN site to read the current test plan. The test plan is basically your study guide. It will help you out and you can determine which section(s) are your weak/strong areas. Best of luck!

Nope.
Thanks! I was sure there were some out there who have taken the NCLEX this year, but when searching the topics on here, I had not seen many boards that were discussing the 2015 NCLEX. I have read the test plan, which was pretty helpful, and am doing the NCSBN review. I also took a live review required during school. We had just heard mixed things from our instructors and live review instructor. Some said they were still using generic and trade, some said just generic, I felt no one really knew for sure. It was kind of frustrating!
