Has anyone heard anything about the Minnesota School of Business BSN program?

U.S.A. Minnesota

I am currently enrolled at North Hennepin Community College in Minnesota. I am working on my pre-regs. with plans of going into Nursing. I know I want to earn my BSN and was wondering if anyone here has heard anything, good or bad, about the program at Minnesota School of Business? Is it hard to get in? Why is it so expensive? Thanks for your help!

I was wondering the same thing!!! Hope someone responds and gives you answers you are looking for. Are you going to apply at NHCC? I'm going to apply to Inver and the U of MN. I applied this winter but got denied. :-(

Moved to MN Nursing Programs for more response.

Hi! I don't know what to do. My original plan was to apply at NHCC and get my ADN. Now I'm thinking I should just go for the BSN. What are the admission requirements at the U of MN? I did not do so well on my ACTs.

You give them your high school and college transcript and you have to have general biology, chemistry, psychology, nutrition,English done by the program start date. I believe about 4 to 500 apply for 90 spots for the downtown campus and 32 for Rochester campus. I was thinking about Minnesota business/globe college but I don't know about the tuition...seems way expensive. I was going to attend a meeting. Have you went to one yet?

It does seem expensive. Someone else posted that it is the most expensive program in Minnesota! I have not been to one of the meetings. Mabey I should. How much is it at the U of M?

They are priced a bit higher, however you get what you pay for. The professors are amazing, support staff is great, lifetime career placement help, then best of all.......NCLEX pass rate 100%!!!

MSB is a private college. The only thing I have ever heard about their nursing program is that it may not be fully credentialed. This was a couple years ago, I might add. I'd thoroughly research any program that you plan on applying to.

I know several who have graduated from MSB BSN program. They have a 100% NCLEX pass rate and they ARE accredited (I think recently). They are expensive because of the quality of the BSN program along with the success of their grads. It's worth looking into - but the expense ultimately deterred me as well.

I just read some of these previous comments.. A little late, but I attend Globe University. I was really hesitant about attending this school due to the fact that they didn't have the best reputation in the past, but I'm already 5 months into there program and let me tell you these educators are amazing. They really have surprised me with how much time that they have put into giving us a well rounded education. They really have gone above and beyond for us so far. I'm not sure about all the other programs within the school and if they're "valuable" for other careers, but from someone who currently is in the BSN program at Globe.I enjoy the smaller class sizes which has allowed us to become so much closer with our Cohort and staff. I won't lie the program is expensive, but comparing to most of the nursing programs in MN.. I would say most are going to be overpriced no matter where you go. They just redid the inside of the school too and it looks really nice. The program is a little faster because we go by quarters instead of semesters. It's a little more intense since quarters are shorter than semesters, but instead of doing your BSN for the full four years you finish in about two in a half to three years. If you plan on transferring to Globe just go get some of those general ed classes out of the way before you apply so you can save some money! I did 2 in a half years at Normandale, but sadly had been wait listed by other schools, so I've saved myself some time and money by starting there. Lastly, one thing I really am enjoying right now is our pharmacology class is being taught by a Doctor and he's so great at teaching! Best of luck to all! :)

Hey there. Just for clarification.. They're CCNE accredited for the Nursing program. They're nationally accredited through ACICS. A lot of schools are just accredited regionally, which means it only causes problems with transferring credits sometimes depending on the other schools types of accreditations.
