Has anyone actually tried preceptorconnect.com ?

Published

I am enrolled in a program that does not provide preceptors. I have come across the website preceptorconnect.com and was wondering if anyone has actually given it a try. I am skeptical because I cannot find any reviews about it anywhere. Any help would be great.

Thank!

Yeah, except when you have to! hahaha

I feel really stupid for trying to use this company to find a preceptor, but I was desperate!!! Finding a preceptor in my area was next to impossible. So I went on allnurses.com to find some guidance, and this website appeared. A couple of people said they had used the services and they had really helped them. Now I went to their website and read their agreement and emailed them. At first, this company responded to my emails in a timely manner and seemed very professional. However, after I paid them their money correspondence was almost non existent. I have not heard from them in MONTHS and will only hear from them if I contact and basically threaten them. Even then I get a sentence and that is all. I have tried going through paypal to get my money back and because it has been past 45 days they are unable to refund me, but the kind lady on the other side of the phone did inform me that this is not the first time someone has called about them!! I have tried going through my bank WellsFargo and they informed because the services are technically still being provided (I paid for 6 months and started the preceptorconnect thing in october) then I can't get my money back. This is so frustrating and I really hate that I wasted that much money on this. Curse the folks that said this website "worked" for them! Anyways, I figured I would let the nursing community know before they get another unsuspecting victim. I wind up finding a minuteClinic to go to for this semester, and I got a pediatric office to go to too, but that won't suffice for the coming semesters....back on the grind for me!!!

Well the school is out of state and basically said they were not helping, I have been told by several offices they do not appreciate cold calls, I have sent letters and emails, I have spoken to my state NP chapter and recent grads. Many places do not want students or are only taking students from certain schools. I have struck out at every turn including several health departments and branches of planned parenthood.

Hey I hope you did not use them. I tried using them and lo and behold!!! I find out that they are basically a rip off. You will come off better looking around for yourself!! Good luck!!!

P.S try applying on the MinuteClinic website. You can do clinicals with them, but most places (respectable universities/schools) will only let you use them for health assessment.

We are not allowed to use minute clinic sites. Must be a office setting. I did try them and all they did was take my $. Took me forever to find receptors for this semester but I did. Already trying to find some for the Summer and Next Spring.

I would file a complaint with the BBB. Home - New Jersey BBB

They got you too huh? SMH well lesson learned I guess. I called paypal though and they say they have gotten quite a few complaints about them. Hopefully if enough people call they can stop them from using paypal to get money. I'm sure they will find other ways though. Glad you found some preceptors! Where do you go to school?

Yep, just did. Doing anything possible to keep this "company" from taking people's hard earned money!!

They gave me a different address and would not give me a phone number. Also, refused to give me any proof they had done any sort of work on my behalf. I fild a complaint with the BBB. Advise everyone else to as well. If any of you live in NJ also maybe call a local news station.

Funny thing is after I called that number and sent a follow up email, preceptorconnect sent me an email back saying that my money had been refunded into my paypal account and should appear within 14 days. I will be counting down the days, and if it does not appear I will be calling my bank and fowarding that email.

Do not use preceptor point. I am sure a lot of people have had acceptable experiences with them but if you have issues they are unwilling to work with you and basically tell you that you are S.O.L. The preceptor messed up the application she sent me to submit. The school rejected it and said it needed to be resubmitted. Peceptorpoint informed me I had to let them remedy the problem and I would not get my 2000$ back because the school hadn't completely denied the application. I have another preceptor at this point and the school is sending me an email denying the application which I will forward to Prectorpoint. The experience has been beyond a nightmare.
