Happy 4th! I officially passed NCLEX!

Published

Thank you allnurses for helping me get through this journey!

I took NCLEX 6/29 with 265 Q and got the good pop up PVT about 2 hours later. Today, 7/4 my name was on the CA BRN!! So fast! It's my Dad's birthday today and he's been going through a lot of stress with our Grandfather terminally ill with Multiple Myeloma so this is the perfect birthday present for him!

Again, thank you for all your help! Let me know if you guys need any help! :D

congrats!

how was your exam?

what did you use to study?

The exam was a bit scary since I went all the way to 265! It wasn't impossible though! You can do it!

My main study source was Kaplan. I used the classroom anywhere plus the Qbank. The classroom anywhere was pretty good in my opinion since you get to be in the comfort of your own home and you have the instructor plus two TA's to help answer your questions. After the class, I watched some of the video lectures, especially the pharmacology one. I finished all the exams, question trainers, sample tests and entire Qbank about 1 day before my NCLEX exam. It took me about a month to finish it all and I did about 50-100 Q a day.

I only scored 58% average for the Qbank. I truly believe its not about the scores you get, but about going over the rationale of what you got wrong and ensuring that you understand the material and why you got it wrong. I rewrote the rationales that I got wrong so that it remained in my mind better.

I also put normal labs, transmission-based precautions, and any other info. I believe was important on flashcards to memorize.

Lastly, the allnurses study guide was amazing! It helped me so much to highlight info that was important! Hope that helps!
