I just need to know if there are any nurses out there that had or have END STAGE RENAL DISEASE.
My story is that I passed the NCLEX in 2018 after failing it 3x. Yes 3! DON'T GIVE UP!
I started working at one of the main hospitals where I reside and my health was not getting better and here I go thinking I can cure myself by eating right but nope it was getting worse and I actually had to resign after working as a nurse in the hospital and decided to work at a an oncology clinic.
Found out that my kidneys were failing. So I had to get started on dialysis and I didn't work for a year.
I am now working part time and also doing dialysis.
What I want to know is the experience of any nurse that has gone through dialysis and working as a nurse and also if anyone has received a transplant and is still working as a nurse.
As you know we will be on medications for life once we have the transplant and our immune system is compromised. I want to know if I should still work as a nurse once I get the transplant or should I go for a different job?
