I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown earlier today. I received a letter today from my school stating that I was missing my second TB immunization record and that it could "potentially interrupt my participation in the nursing program" (I start my first semester next month). Needless to say, after all the hard work I have put in the past year, I was terrified! When I turned in my immunization packet, it stated that we needed a 2 step TB test if we had not had one done in the past 12 months. My employer requires an annual TB test, so I went to the HR department and got proof that I had already had it done. I had even called the nursing department to clarify that it was all I needed to do.
I immediately tried calling the nursing department this afternoon and had to leave a message since no one was in the office. Luckily, they called me back and told me that since I take a yearly TB test with my employer, all I would need to do is submit my test results from 2008 and they would accept that. I feel so relieved that everything could be worked out. I had to fax them the information since I live an hour away from my campus and wanted to make sure they got it today. I am going to call again Monday morning and speak with them to make sure they received my TB records and make sure they have all of my paperwork. I guess that I just didn't think they would need my results from 2008 and 2009. Now I know better. That was too close for comfort!
