Had job interview - did not mention health issues

I just had an interview today for an LPN position at a county jail. It sounded like it was not physical demanding. So, I felt no need to discuss that I left work for health reasons. However, when I was discussing it with my sister she told me that it would be considered fraud. The actual reason I left work was for my health. And, went on disability.

But, I had the actual application that I was to send to her. On the application I stated the reason for leaving was to take some time off due to job became too physical demanding for my health at that time.

During the interview, I gave the reason for leaving as to take some time off, and to take a break. And, that I didn't need to work at that time. I didn't look at is as fraud. I was afraid to divulge the real reason would prevent me from getting hired. But, I did put in writing on application(after the interview) that it was too much for my health at the time.

Oh well, I probably screwed up. Too bad, because I think that I would have been able to handle that job. It was only 2 twelve hr. shifts a week.:crying2:

It is my understanding that you are not required to disclose a disability prior to being hired if you are physically capable of doing the job. I hope you get a call back!
