Hi! I am new here! I would like to ask some questions and your help will be greatly appreciated.
I am an ER nurse here in the Philippines with 1.5yrs of training. I passed the NCLEX-RN, IELTS and also have my Visa Screen. I would like to ask if you know any company who's willing to sponsor you on an H1B visa? Actually, I have been petitioned for an immigrant visa and my priority date is feb 6, 09. However, with the rate of visa approval for US, I wonder when I'll be catered. :)
Anybody here who knows some employer who's willing to process for you? Thank you for your future replies. :))

probably faster for you to try canada since you have experience. i thought BSN grads aren't qualified for h1b....
Hi! Thanks for the reply.
Nope, I think BSN grad are still qualified for H1B visa. My friend is already working in Florida now, and she only had BSN. I think as long as you have a specialization (ie: Critical Care/ICU, ER, OR etc) you can be petitioned.

Unless you are certified in ER nursing which usually requires 2 years of experience, you do not qualify. i don't know how your friend qualified .....but it doesn't seem right.
My friend has 2years work exp as an ICU nurse. There was this agency who petitioned her for a hospital in Florida, non-cap tho.
You said you only have 1.5 year experience, that means you probably don't qualify.
But she was petitioned after she had 1yr work exp. on-going. when she left and all papers were finalized, she had all-in-all 2yrs work exp.

You could try but finding a employer will be hard especially now when many nurses are struggling to find work and the employer has to prove that they can not employ locally
If the nurse has a certificate, and the position requires a bachelor's degree, isn't the other requirement of H1b that the nurse has about 5 years experience?
Looking on the US government website I see nothing that indicates you must have 5 years experience, what I have seen is
In order to qualify for an H1B visa, the alien must demonstrate that s/he is able to work in the speciality occupation for which s/he is being hired by the sponsoring employer. This can be demonstrated by:
* Possession of a relevant US college degree;
* Possession of a non-US college degree (and, generally, 3 years' relevant high-level work experience) independently evaluated as being equivalent to a relevant US college degree;
* Possession of at least 12 years' high-level work experience, independently evaluated as being equivalent to a US college degree; or
* Possession of any relevant State or Federal license that may be required in order to practice in a particular profession.
