Gwinnett Tech College: Fall 2017 Nursing

Published

I am interested in applying to Gwinnett Technical College nursing program that starts Fall of 2017. I want to know if:

(1) If anyone else is applying for this as well ( i pray that each and everyone of you does well and claims positive things.)

(2) Does Gwinnett Tech. have any stipulations like if you failed nursing classes that you have to wait 5 years? ( I was enrolled in another schools nursing program and failed. Never take fundamentals and pharmacology during the summer semester at Albany Tech especially when they only care about getting their accredidation and their "BIG VISIT" is in September!!! The teachers have good intentions, but good intentions mean nothing without actions to support.)

(3.) What are the differences between the Kaplan and the Teas V? Is the kaplan like the "ati" of nursing at Gwinnett Tech?

Any information, suggestions, and just pure conversation would help not only me, but future respondees to this Topic.

Good Afternoon StudentRN33,

At Gwinnett Technical College, we offer an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. After prerequisite courses are complete, students can apply for admission into the program. We accept one cohort each year which begins in the fall semester; the deadline for admission is January 15 each year. Students seeking admission are required to sit for the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Examination. The program uses a competitive selection process. Considerations in the selection process may include, but are not limited to: clinical work experiences, current GTC student status, excessive withdrawals, excessive attempts at coursework and number of completed general education support classes.

Students who successfully complete the ADN program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses(NCLEX-RN) and can practice in all U.S. states and its territories.

We have information sessions scheduled on the last Thursday of each month from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. The sessions are held on campus in the 900 building. If you would like to attend, this is a great time to learn more about our program. In addition, our Program Specialist is available to meet with you as well to address your questions or concerns. The Program Specialist is Ms. Saadia Jackson, and she can be reached at 678-226-6729 or [email protected].

Thank you,

Dr. Tyler

Dean, Nursing Sciences

Thank you so much Dr. Tyler for this information. I plan on attending your informational session next month since i missed the one for the month of August. Have a wonderful day and i look forward to meeting with the Nursing Department.

i am currently accepted from Albany tech

could you tell me more experienced about albany tech?

i found that their program copletion rate is 52 percent. so i am worried about it.

do you think only very smart people could survive or what is it like? please help me to decide it.

I'm not sure if anyone is still active but I am looking for some information as what what the nursing program really consists of as far as scheduling. I see on the schedule of classes that some days says 7 am -7pm? Do you guys really spend 12 hours a day at clinical? I'm a wife and mom and trying to figure out if this program is realistic for me. Thanks
