Guest Speaker for Graduation.

I am looking for suggestions for a possible guest speaker for our graduation...

What we are looking for is someone that is epitomy of Nursing excellence...either through deeds or standout contributions to the field of nursing.

Second need is that they be fairly close to the Sacramento Area as we could not pay this person to speak.

Our graduation is in May so we do have time to find someone.

I would go to TED.com and watch some of the speeches there (they are great, and many about healthcare). You can then contact the speakers through the website.

I was in the RN program at Sac City College in 71, so my first suggestion that came to mind was Barbara Lafferty the Director nursing at City for over 30 years. But then I thought she might be over 100 now. Nevertheless, there must be other retired Directors of Nursing programs from the Sacramento area, or retired instructors. Mrs Lafferty was an outstanding educator and speaker. Maybe someone else will come to mind...good luck.
