me!!! :crying2:

i took my last nursing exam lifespan 3 few hours ago and failed with a big fat d.

i got over confident and under estimated this exam. i don't know what to do now. i guess i can take the information literacy and clep growth & development while waiting to be eligible for this exam again.

i guess i have to re-evaluate how to tackle this exam for my retake because my usual technique did not work. i know i can request to take it earlier than the usual 60 days wait but i have no idea how to study for this exam now. i guess i can read or purchase the actual recommended readings from the ec study guide.

i hope this failure does not let me feeling down too long.

First of all, absolutely don't be down about this.

Now, in regards to studying for these exams. I would definitely have recommended using the reading materials in the EC study guides. You have to remember you're not just studying to pass the exam, you're studying to know how to take care of patients. And when you get that diploma, you have to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and that is going to test your minimum ability to take care of patients based on what you learned in nursing school.

Good luck and don't let this small hiccup bring you down. Mourn it for a day and then immerse yourself in new studies.

You can call and ask them to waive the waiting period and possibly retest sooner.

angel,

what materials did you use to study for ls3? pm me; i may have some suggestions...old notes or something. keep your head up. you've come too far to let this get you down. lifespan 2 was difficult to me. i passed with a c; but my goodness, i was afraid to look at the paper when the lady at pearson vue handed it to me.

i just used sg101 and the practice exams. i thought that was enough. in the past, i would read the saunders nclex-rn comprehensive review then do nclex questions then i would also read my lpn book. i don't know why i got too confident and didn't do those in this exam. lesson learned!

lifespan 2, i was done in less than an hour and got a b. i liked the psych and endocrine section so i wasn't worried. but this test, i was guessing the whole time. hay....also, my practice scores were 60 before reading then 62 after. i thought i would get at least a c with that score because i usually got b's in the actual exam with those practice sores.

anyway, thanks for the offer of your notes west. would you mind sending them to my e-mail? just add "@yahoo.com" on my screen name here. thank you so much!!

i will defeat this exam next time around. i will ask excelsior to let me retake it early like in one month. for the mean time, i won't think of this exam for a couple of days because i called penn foster college to let me take the info lit. hopefully, i can start taking it tomorrow. she said she will send the instructions via e-mail in a couple of days.

i guess the fcca & cpne will have to wait for me to take them down!! :D

thank you everyone for the support!!!

Sorry to hear that Angel, I guess it differs from 1 individual to the next because I struggled with Lifespan 2 and studied some of everything and eased out with a C, but with Lifespan 3 I used exactly what you used and got an A. Don't give up you have come too far and try not to over complicate the questions, some are tricky and I think the trauma shows I watch alot of helped me also with this test. Good Luck u can do it!

So sorry. Just keep reading and take it again. It sucks to fail a test. My friend failed her last test and retook it 3 weeks later and passed. Just keep reviewing.
