Thought I'd ask again if there are any GCC ASN hopefuls out there? I am dying to get my letter good or bad at this point. I feel like I'm in such limbo since this will be a complete career change for me and will be leaving a pretty decent full-time job if I get in. I feel like I can't plan beyond the end of this semester till I know if I'm in or out. Any current or former students who would be willing to share the stats that got them in would be soooooo awesomely appreciated !!!

Hi,
I just got my acceptance letter yesterday! Very excited. Have you heard yet?
yes, you're sooo lucky I am #15 on the wait list so my odds aren't too good, but on the up side I now have a spot in the LPN because so many of them got RN acceptance letters so at least it's a start and maybe 15 people will not take their spots. I hear they went that far into the wait list last year so there is a little hope. good luck to you !!
Oh bummer.
Yeah, the LPN program was my backup plan too. I just gave up my spot on the LPN list.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Post an update if you end up in the ADN program after all.
Good Luck!
Is there anyone else out there who is headed for the the Greenfield Community College ADN program in Sept 2010?

Hi there. I'm applying to the ASN program at GCC for 2011. For those that were accepted (and those that were not) to GCC, what was your prereq GPA, previous degrees, etc.? I'm trying to see what my chances are. Thanks guys!
well like I said I was #15 on the wait list and they did not go that deep into the list this year so I will be in the LPN program this fall. I had a previous associates degree from GCC my GPA for that was a 3.2 and my GPA for the classes I took specifically as pre/co-reqs for nursing was 3.6 the only co-req I haven't been able to take is micro because of scheduling conflicts. I wish I knew why I wasn't higher on the list I think it was simply because of the micro since I think everyone(or nearly everyone) I've met who is in the program this fall had taken all of their co-reqs. I will apply to the LPN to RN as soon as I am eligible anyway and perhaps this is a better route for me since I am making a career change and have zero healthcare experience. Good luck to you!
Thanks for the info. It looks like I have 3.2 or 3.3 science GPA (the advising folks at GCC told me they only look at science GPA) in A&P I., A&P II., and Micro; I've finished all the other pre/coreqs. I'm going to retake A&P I. this fall, since I got a B the first time; I'm not sure if this would hurt or help, since I'm not sure if GCC has a first come first serve sort of admissions. But, since you say you had a 3.6 GPA and didn't get in it might be hopeless.
ADN is not first come first served, LPN is but we were told at orientation that wouldn't be the case for much longer, they are going to start using the TEAS exam to make admission decisions for the LPN program. The criteria for ADN may be changing as well you should definately go to an informational meeting.
