Grant MacEwan 2016

Published

Hey there! I am a grade 12 student in BC looking to apply to a nursing program (RN) out of high school. I have already considered a couple schools here but I'm also looking at schools in Alberta like MacEwan. I didn't even consider U of A because of what I read about it by the way.

I wanted to apply right away for fall 2016 as soon as I saw the competitive average for GM, but I read that they look and accept people according to the date people have applied for the program, so I don't want to wast $110 on an application that won't even be looked at. Is this true? if so, Im hoping to apply for the jan 2016 intake when it opens.

Hey guys, I'm a grade 12 student and I applied for Fall 2016. I was just wondering what is the entrance percentage needed to ensure a spot? And also wondering if I should even bother applying to the UofA??

@razor0414 yes apply to the u of a. Macewan you need 80% but they don't pick based on best grades. So you're better applying for u of a aswell to be safe.

@Veganlover123 is it 80? Why does the Competitive Average Range say you need high 80's? Would I be able to get in to the 2017 winter intake with an 83 (for example) assuming I apply as soon as I can? Also, although my preference is MacEwan over UofA, I will apply to the U. Thanks again!

@razor0414 if it says high 80s then they must have changed their competitive average. In the past it was 80%. You can always apply just incase.

Are any of you guys attending Macewan this fall?

No I am at NorQuest College taking my LPN!

I'm at NorQuest taking my LPN too :)

@sashapuppy How are you liking it !? what section are you in?

I have applied, and been accepted to Macewan for early admission. They no longer base it off of date, and you are ranked by average. The competitive average is listed on their website, but I believe it is around 87%. However, for early admission you needed at least a 90.
