Hi all,

I am about to start an online RN-BSN program at GCU on Oct 7th. I was wondering if any of you are too so we can have this post to help out each other. Thanks!

I was looking into that program. Please post how you like it.

1 week down on the very 1st course! 1st week was a breeze, 2nd week is going well! Each week we have 2 discussion questions we have to come up with our own response. And then reply back! When you reply back, on 3 days (out of the 7) you have to have at least 2 responses to others questions they made. So if you are going to reply--ensure you reply back a total of twice! I do it a few more in case the prof states ur reply was not "valid" She seems to be fairly relax, but most people tend to put forth a good effort. At least a few sentences!

1 real group project--due at the end of week 3. Nothing too strenuous. We started with a group of 4, 1 gal dropped out--did not bother to tel us,lol

We started a facebook group for our class, makes things a bit easier to communicate! Already had a few people complaining in the ask the prof question forum about not getting in touch with other group members, lol

So far so good! Like that I can get the books online (you pay for it) I ordered a bunch of generic ink off of Ebay, in case I want to print pages off.

Bought Perrla.com for $34, it seems to work very well!! Unlimited uses for the year--make your APA format a lot easier. Cheers

Thanks! How long is it going to take you to finish?

I'm in now hurry!! Not back to the USA until Summer of 2016, paying out of pocket, so no real restrictions on how long I take off between classes----except for the ANA discount of 10% off--then to keep that I do require permission, not overly worried about that. I need 12 classes--2 of which I can test out of. We shall see.

I will start Monday. And I need 12 classes. They accept all my GE classes. I was surprised as other places told me I would need additions classes. I am excited but nervous in the same time. I don't like writing that much. But I will do anything to get a job. And I think being enrolled in a BSN program will help. At least I hope so.

I was told you can take breaks between classes as long as it is not longer than 2 weeks. If so you need to ask for permission and will loose the 10% off from ANA. If you are paying out of pocket I think you can take any breaks you want. In my case I have financial aid so things are a little different.

So if I don't take any breaks I should finish by December of next year.

yep 2 weeks or less is fine--otherwise you need approval. Not why thats the case for the ANA discount, but it is what it is!

So far so good!! I wish some people would NOT ask every silly question to the prof, I will leave it at that!! I guess some are just super nervous. Good luck!!

Hi, what class are you in now? I Just started.

Last week of Stats!!! then taking a break until end of March and then research

Congrats, I bet that is a relief! I am nervous for stats! Any group projects in stats? I am new to this site but it is nice to see people who are going through this program. Thank you for your feedback!

No group projects or exams. Still the 2 DQ's a week, and then 1 has an Excel exercise homework and a work book exercise for homework. The excel and the exercise book are due Sundays. Our prof does a Youtube video for the excel homework--so u just watch it and follow the steps, so very staright forward. Excercise book homework (most weeks it has just been 1, on 2 occasions has been 2 exercise book assignments--each has 10 questions) is more time consuming.

Thank you for the info! Somehow hearing what to expect eases the nerves! Wishing you luck!
