Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
As happy as 1 can be writing papers, lol Not making this comment to anyone here...but some people write better than others, thus get better grades...In 1 of my "anything classes" we had to read another students paper and critique it.....It was terrible, did not make much sense and soooo many grammar errors....and this was a fellow RN-BSN student....but yes some profs do grade at a higher level...1 prof told me 1 should always be trying to achieve more, thus she graded as if one was at a MSN level???
I had one like that when I was at GCU. Every discussion question had to have references and in APA format. ugh.... I had a similar experience when I had to critique a fellow students paper. So felt like asking if this is how they wrote all their papers - sentence structure and grammar all messed up, and not a good logical flow to paragraphs and the paper etc...wow!
Finding the same at the Masters level - some expect you to write as though you were publishing. I do understand it is to push us to expand our knowledge, but dang...why is it always in the class that seems to be challenging to me. LOL
I believe in worker smarter not harder, lol Keeping in mind that classes are only 5 weeks long, it doesn't give much time for a prof to truly and get to know the students..thus when i wrote most of my DQs, I wrote them fairly well and used citations/references....I figured if the prof saw that ur DQs were written in a decent fashion, they figured ur papers would be as well and maybe not look so deep into them, lol Thats sort of what I would do if I was a prof, lol Write well and then finish up the DQ in asking a question, so others can reply easily to it, and you back to them.....
Has been quiet here. First, as I have observed, everyone is happy but me. What is the missing link, lol!
I moved to a new job, thinking it was the perfect place. No.
I really am confused about starting BSN or just making sandwiches at McDonalds......
Did Rob finish? Did it go ok for him. I know Derk did super....???
Finding an ideal job in any profession is difficult to do.....and sometimes u know what it is..but the pay is horrible, lol I don't belive every RN needs a BSN to be an effective health provider, but in this environment, it seems it sure does help to get the job. Not sure I would have gotten my soon to start job in occupational health without it. Going back to school is not an easy thing to do...sure wasn't for me and I had oodles of time to do it.....Maybe try an online class at GCU just to try it...maybe a less $$$ class u can take just for fun and see how u do.
I believe Rob is complete..good luck
How many folks doyou all find posting that are over 55?
The age thing is holding me back.
All I have done is ruminate over what I should do for two years. By now I would be done.
I don't think I have the energy but I have to do something as I feel like I am strangling here,
I need to learn...
