Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Thank you all! I probably would not have moved ahead without you! I don't have any family support at all.. so this is all me and what I need to do for myself. Which I think is good. The change of advisers, the scholarship even if minimal, has given me the boost to move forward!

I know the feeling. I did have support from husband and my college dtr cheered me on from afar, but other family members didn't care and became upset when I couldn't make it to gatherings and told me so.

Nobody at work said congratulations. What I did, I did for me and to procure a future in nursing.

I called my mom the other day to ask a quick question, here's how that went:

Ring ring..

Mom: Hello?

Me: Hi, you got a sec?

Mom: Who is this?

Me: Very funny mom.

My folks needed to have a talk with my husband on Friday..."she's got too much on her plate". I think I've done dishes once while in school since this started and we both work full time. We divide home school duties for ds. Hang on for six more months people!!!

About this time last year I was reading a post from Flames regarding GCU. I decided to give it a go, and today started my first day in Capstone. I wish I could've continued to post with you guys while taking this journey with GCU, because it would've made things a lot smoother and supportive. I have been completely submerged in school and finishing this program. It will be good to return to the land of the living just in time for the Christmas holiday.

I cleaned under the fridge today, lol. Probably hasn't been done since February of 2013. I'm still playing catch up and I graduated six months ago. Sigh..

tokmom,

Can you give me your take on the Capstone overall? I was hoping that they would go easy on us considerating all we've done to get to this point. The instructor did say that it was intense for the first few weeks and then slacks off a bit, but the syllabus is frightening, and this class looks like A LOT of work and a repeat of research.

Winterwhite,

Thanks, you will be here before you know it. It goes really fast. I see that some of you double up on classes and take breaks. Looking back, maybe I should've done that. I kept plugging along one class at a time, and never thought about doubling up until it crossed my mind of how nice it would be to enjoy the holidays this year with no papers to write, no dreaded CLC, or DQs. So I doubled up in Leadership and Pathophys. It was crazy busy.
