Any advice would be great. Here is what is happening. I have recently graduated from a LPN program in Michigan, before graduation I did the application for the Texas LVN license because I knew I would be moving to Texas at the end of July after graduation. Texas received the money for the license fee, I passed the NJE test that is required and they accepted my background check. As I wait for the affidavit of graduation, which I believed would be fine because the school I attended is on the list of approved schools by Texas BON, i get a letter from Texas BON. The letter states I am missing hours and such, I am just curious if anyone else had problems or is it just me and maybe I am praying the school just made a little mistake.

I would suggest that you call the TxBON for additional information about any deficiencies, and how they can be remedied.

LPN/LVN school curriculum can be extremely variable - from 9 month contact hours programs to 18 month college hour programs and everything in between. So states usually add on their own specifics for licensure. I'm sure that this is probably a commonplace occurrence and that there are ways to fix it.

Good luck - keep us posted on your progress.

I ended up just applying for my MI LVN lic. and getting it transfered and paid all the extra fees and Texas got an extra 139 dollars from me, but that's fine, because I took my NCLEX here and passes it first try :) And I have been a practicing LVN in an OB/GYN office and working on getting into school to get my RN. Thanks for the advice.
