Jul 6, 201213 yr So should we send our medical forms without the flu shot info put in there? That was also the last thing holding me up...I would bring it to orientation
Jul 8, 201213 yr I am new to GPC. Does anyone know if I have to attend new student orientation or just orientation for nursing? Also, I tried calling the school all last week to ask them, and it always said the call volume was too heavy, call back later...then it would hang up on me. Maybe some of you can tell me what to do, but I need to be advised and go to financial aid. Does anyone know if nursing has their own adviser? Do I need to make an appointment for advisement/financial aid? How do I make an appt? When I was there to see admissions (when initially applying to GPC) the line was CRAZY LONG in that building! It looked so chaotic! I do not have all day to wait up there!
Jul 9, 201213 yr @loveleme~ since I attended the very first orientation when I started GPC in 2009, I have never been to a second one. I know as a freshman/transfer student it was required. I could not register for class until i attended orientation. The best time to see an advisor is 8 am, or at least getting there before they do. You can self- advise but you are solely responsible for what you choose.
Jul 9, 201213 yr If you've been accepted to the program just nursing orientation, get there 7:30/8:00 to avoid crazy long lines, nursing does not have it's own advisor, no appointments, first come first served so get there early. Go to GPC website fill out all nessasary paperwork and take it there personally. I hope you've already filled out your FASFA, good luck to you.
Jul 9, 201213 yr Thank you so much you two :) I guess I will plan to be there early tomorrow morning, I have two holds now and still cannot get anyone on the phone...now it says "technical difficulties" and just hangs up on me! I have never experienced anything like this before. Yes, I have filled out my FASFA (was always told to do FASFA when doing taxes!) Again, thank you SO much for the info! I will be there at 7:30am and try to get some answers!

Jul 11, 201213 yr Major= Nursing, finally!!!!!! God is so good!! and I am so excited and ready to get started!!See everyone at orientation!!
Jul 11, 201213 yr Hi. If you have not ordered the uniform yet, the bookstore at Clarkston has some on display that you can try one. And they had a bunch of smalls on hand that you could buy.I am getting excited now! I registared this morning! (after one minor jump hoop)
Jul 13, 201213 yr Has everyone gotten their shots yet? I went to get mine yesterday, and didnt know what to do about the Hep B - I dont think I have ever had those, so I got the first shot, but it will take 3 months to get all of them!! What did ya'll do, are you just signing the waiver??? Thanks!
Jul 13, 201213 yr I was in the same situation. I signed the waiver, but they also wrote on the form that they had given me the first shot, so whoevr reads the form knows I am on track to being immunized. Hopefully that's good enough.
Jul 14, 201213 yr Hello All:I did go up to the Dekalb Health Dept & was told I had the latest flu vaccine ( they won't tell you over the phone). Also, I did begin my Hep B earlier, I am due the last one in August. Doc just documented what I had & I will sign waiver until the series is complete.Lastly, no one told me in the financial aid office that I needed to file a financial aid appeal bc I needed more time on the Pell grant ( hours beyond 51). I was just advised that I had to make sure that my major was changed to Nursing. I wasn't advised that the Nursing Dept handles that. Anyways, it takes 2-4 weeks to find out if your appeal is granted, yet meanwhile, be prepared to pay using your own funds. I discovered this about 2 pm today, after trying to contact financial aid since 7/11 via phone & email. They finally replied today & I made it just in time. When you fill out the appeal form, an advisor must go over it with you & sign iit as well, then turn it into the financial aid office. Then wait...
Who's applied to GPC for the fall?
