GPA for nursing program at CCAC

Published

Hi wondering if anyone knows how important it is to have a high GPA to get accepted into the CCAC nursing program. I have a 4.0 right now but as classes get harder, it may go down. I know the minimum accepted, but in reality, how high does it need to be to get a place in my first choice which is at CalU? Also, how far in advance can you take the nursing exam to get accepted? Is it a year, 2 years, 3 years? Thanks

Not sure if you still need this info -

the newest applications state that the entrance selection rests solely on your PAX score and your GPA. You get extra points for taking AP I, APII and Micro. The points are calculated by taking your GPA and PAX score in a formula to decide where you fall. You get extra points A = .75 pts etc for grades in the above mentioned classes. If you go to CCAC website and put in nursing admission policy in the search - it will give you a pdf to see how it works. Hope this helps!
