GPA calc for graduate programs

Published

Just some foreword thinking, I am still knocking out pre-reqs, on the typical system schools use for gpa. Will the use both the grades from community college and what ever college I end up going to or will they only take the gpa that reflects upon my degree ( my understanding is that my gpa now will not transfer to my next school, but that the grades will only show as pass fail). Just wanted to check to see if my gpa now(4.0) will give me some pad when I go to nursing school (where I doubt it will be as easy as community college).

Thanks for your time.

There is no set rule about that. Each school establishes its own procedures for that sort of thing. Different schools do it differently.

In general, when you start a new graduate program you will start with a GPA 0.00.

Do not expect any of the prerequisite classes to transfer to a graduate degree. These are classes that you are taking for admissions requirements; they are not degree requirements.
