For Brookhaven/Mountain View the ranking is done via a point system. I was just accepted into the El Centro RN program for Fall and we go by GPA. I had a gpa of 3.8. I do not know the lowest that was accepted, but I know someone that had a 3.53 was not accepted. They have 100 seats to fill and if 100 that apply have 4.0 then that is who gets in. Usually the cut off is around 3.6. It just depends on of the amount of people that apply, how many have gpa's over a certain cut off.

You would probably get into Brookhaven without a problem (if you do really well on HESI) since they go by points. Your HESI score is the bulk of your points, so that is more important than your GPA. Your HESI score + support courses + GPA is how they decide. Just go to the website and check it out. I would shoot for a HESI score in the 90s.
Thank you all~ I appreciate your responses. I am enrolling in all of the support classes this fall. So hopefully I will better my chances.

Im also applying to Brookhaven/Mountain View for the spring 2010 term...I only have 3 out of 8 of my support courses complete, but all of my core classes are complete except 2 or 3, all of my Pre reqs for this school are complete also. I currently attend UTA and my Gpa is a 3.33. I have a B in A&P 1, a A in A&P 2, a B in Chemistry, a B in English, and a A in Intro to psych. Im applying to midwestern State University also and Im freaking out because I so scared that I might not get into a Nursing program for the spring. The lady at Midwestern told me that i shouldnt have any problems getting in. Still terrified though. Do you think I would have a good chance of getting into Brookhaven?

Hi there! I am pretty sure you will get into Midwestern. How come you are not applying to UTA (if its ok to ask) since you are already there? I am not sure about Brookhaven. How many points do you need and how many do you have? I know that the thought of not getting in is scary!
HI! I sure hope I do, but its only one way to find out and thats to submit my applicaion. No i dont mind you asking...im not applying to UTA because it would take me an extra year to even be able to, I havent taken Patho or Pharmacology yet, and I didnt want to take them both in the same semester(overload). I was going to just split them up and take it patho in the fall and Pharm in the spring, until I found Midwestern State University. I saw that their tuition is WAY lower than UTA and also I have completed all of their prereqs already except microbiology which Im taking this fall. Im not sure how Brookhavens point system is....Im trying to set up an advising appointment with Mountain View as we speak so I can clear some things up.
o ok, well good luck! let us all know what they say. I was just wondering about UTA since I am applying there and was wondering if it was for a bad reason you weren't applying-like maybe someone you knew disliked the program or you knew several people who didnt do well there.
I have heard a lot of people having success at Brookhaven! good luck!
Well it turns out most of the students that get accepted into Brookhaven/Mountain View need to have those support courses complete. Ans I dont so they are off my list, I really dont have time to take 5 EXTRA courses. UTA is a very good school, a girl in this org. that I was in was a junior in the program and she loves it..the program is very competetive also. My RA last semester had all of her classes done and she was enrolled in Tecg writing, pharm, and patho when she applied. She got put on the waiting list and didnt apply to any other schools as back ups. But if you have those courses and score good on your Hesi then you should be fine.

Future RN--- We are about the same, and I am still applying to Brookhaven. I am taking A&P I and Micro, this fall. I have all my pre reqs. done, with a 4.0 GPA. Core classes, Out of 8 classes, I will have 3 classes completed. I am going to A & P II, Pharamcology, and Patho this Spring. Don't give up,
Also check out Weatherford College. I am going to apply to both, if I am not accepted wait until Next year, at least I will get the 3 extra points... ya' know?

THATS AWESOME!!! You have alot of classes out of the way. I just need Micro and stats then Im done. Oh Im not giving up, Im still applying to Midwestern State University and Tarrant County College. Im looking for schools that require all or at least most of the courses that I have already completed. Thats why Im really leaning toward Midwestern, TCC is a back up. Im the same, if I dont get in for Spring 10 then Ill just apply for the Fall...But I will not give up, i didnt work this hard on these courses to stop now.
As long as you have everything done, for TCC you will get in for the most part. If you can take HPRS Medical terminology for TCC. I was told by the Nursing dept. this gives you more points.
I as well, do not want to wait another year before I start. I am ready to get in, and get it done with.
Right, We all have worked very hard to get to this point!
You will get in, I am sure of it. Keep me posted. I wont be applying until Jan. hopefully, Brookhaven, Weatherford, maybe El Centro, and I am going to apply to TCC just to see if I might fall through the cracks!!! lol.... I've been there the whole time, hopefully that helps. :0)
