I would love to hear where everyone's been deployed & stationed.

Diego Garcia, OUCH!! I would assume you were not "mamma3munchkins," maybe "singlehotmamma" then? I was in San Dog back in '97-'00, good times. Get a dog and go to "dog beach," kids will love it, I know we did.

That would be correct. I was single then. It was actually a really fun tour. I got in really good shape and had an awesome tan. The ship tour was the one that was OUCH. We were in dry dock for a good time so we did ship rehab instead of our normal jobs. I was a aviation electronics inspector. I had my five year old and three year old on the ship. The baby is 3 months I had her in nursing school not fun at all. We have a dachshund. I'll have to look for the dog beach.

The dog beaches are so cool. Even though we don't have a dog, we like to got the beaches and wishfully think about when we can have a dog again (not allowed in our condo).

Mamma-

That I know of there are 2. One is in Ocean Beach, not as nice. Lots of Pitbulls and Rottweillers, people not so friendly. However, there was a stretch of beach and water that extended inland like a small lagoon and was great for the smaller ones to splash in. The other one is on Coronado Island. It was sandwiched between the base and Hotel Del Coronado, very nice, very clean and the people were much nicer there. It was the more family oriented one. Take care.

Just got back from a year in the sandbox (Apr '06 - Apr '07). Stationed in Georgia at this time. Would like to serve on humanitarian mission really bad. Applying to go the Army Public Health Course. Hey, does anyone know how an army person (nurse) would be able to do a tour with the navy. Sounds crazy I know, but I have always been interested in life at sea(didn't want to join the Navy, but I have heard of other branches of the services doing tours with another branch).

for your *red* deployments, where they each a year? also, i am really curious about how long a person is likely to be stationed at one place. my anticipated first post assignment is fsh, (will be if i get to oblc on time!)

as a new nurse i am also curious as to how long i'd be at bedside before possible deployments, (only so i can arrange for kitty fosters for my three while i am gone), also i am curious to know which units that medical "brigades" are assigned to.

this is a lot of questions and clearly i will find out when i need to but, any advice or suggestions from you are appreciated.

Father was Stationed to Swabish Gmund, Germany for 1979 to 1981

Father was stationed to Neu Ulm, West Germany, 1981 to 1984

Father was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC from 1984 to 1987

Father stationed to Souel,South Korea from 1987.. I graduated HS in 1989.. and Joined the Army in summer of 1989

Us army airborne school , fort benning Ga, 1990\

Stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Savanaha, Ga with the 160th special operations aviation regiment, Airborne

( Numerous deployments to include Desert Storm and many training schools and operations) 1990 to 1995

1996 Joined the National Guard to present..

(Numerous deployments to include Operation Enduring Freedom earned my college degrees.. etc)
