  1. I don't know if anyone here will be able to answer this but thought I would try anyways. What are the chance of me getting in the AF or Navy after I was discharged from the Navy in 96 due to parenthood. My husband died unexpectantly and I had 3 small children at the time. I have since remarried and the kids are getting ready to graduate H.S.. I know I need a waiver but didn't know the chances of getting in. I really do want to get back in and finish my last 12 years for retirement.

Talk with a health care recruiter, they will be able to tell you if you need a waiver or not. If your time in the Navy had no problems it should not be a problem now. If you where enlisted the commisioning process is a lot longer then when you enlisted.

What kind of discharge did you get? Look at your DD-214.
