Well everyone the day has come for me to leave and meet my ship. Yes it is very early. I'm gettting that butterfly feeling in my stomach. I'm really excited about my deployment. Its a humanitrian(sp) mission to Southeast Asia for those of you who don't know.

However, I just getting nervous about the unknown of ship life and leaving my husband. Plus, dreading all of the crappy galley food.

I'll keep all of you updated on all my good sea stories.

Well, I guess I should really get in the shower now and make my way to the airport on this fine Navy Day!!!

Good luck and safe journey. When you are thinking of that crappy galley food, remember the Soldiers like me eating MRE's!! Lol, I was a sailor for 8 years in a previous life so can relate.

Anchor's Away! Even though some things like galley food have not changed many things have changed for the very best. When my dh was in the Navy he was gone for 6 months at a time with nothing but a letter between us. Now with internet and cell phones, etc...you'll be able to stay in touch with hubby. Well Hello Everyone from Hawaii!!!

This deployement has been really good so far. Just been hanging out in HW!!!

But I know that's not how its going to be for the rest of the time on the ship. This is just a teaser for all the work we are going to be doing. I got really lucky getting on the list for this deployment. I'll keep you guys posted as much as possible.

I spent 3 years on the Carl Vinson. I was in really good shape when I got home. The food isn't so great. The further you get from port the worse it is. The best thing is to develop a work out routine to ease some of the stress. I would go to the gerbil gym ( Cardio room) and sweat it helped clear my mind. The first deployment is a little uneasy until you get into a routine and then it is cake until you leave your first child. That was the hardest.

The cheese spread made the crackers and wheat wafers semi-edible. Maybe that was part of my problem! Then let's not get started on the Hooah bars!! :uhoh3:

Well Sea day 1....and I'm feeling green from all this rocking. :barf01:

I sure hope I get used to this.

But I'm really excited about being on ship and this mission that we are about to do. I can't wait to do some pt care. Any how...just wanted to touch base with everyone and let you all know how I was doing.
