Goodwin Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

I wanted to make this for everyone applying this Spring! I attached the point guide to the post!

I just submitted my application and am waiting to sign up for my TEAS. What is everyone using to prepare? I have very bad test anxiety and horrible ADHD but have managed to make it this far with decent grades. What do you guys have for points? GPA’s? I’m really intimidated by the point system because I didn’t transfer in with 60+ credits! I read through some of the old posts for applicants and I’ve seen people being accepted with points as low as 15 so I’m crossing my fingers.

Happy to have found this thread!! I had been reading through past years threads to get an idea of what the threshold for points has been, when to expect letters, etc.

I am applying with 18 pts, got an 82 on the TEAS. I keep getting these irrational thoughts that I didn’t complete my app correctly or I won’t make it in for some other reason. Someone who is currently in the program told me to expect the letter within the next week or so, but looks like you guys have heard differently. Maybe I’ll try emailing my supervisor.

trying not to obsess to much but the wait is starting to get to me! ?

good luck everyone!

It sounds like you will definitely get in! Have you taken Microbiology yet? I get the same thoughts and it worries me! Or I get the thought that they didn’t count all my points. It’s very worrisome ? is it really supposed to come next week? My advisor told me in the middle of October, but I could be wrong. Let me know if you find out when they actually send them out! I know they’re still waiting for TEAS results on some applicants. I know letters would definitely come before registration begins and I think registration is the last week in October. I’m not too sure. I’m so nervous and I just want to get into the program LOL

LOL I wouldn’t be worried about 18 points, you’ll get in! I don’t think letters will be sent out that quick though, even on the past classes, I’ve read through their threads and it seems like it’ll take 2-4 weeks from deadline for TEAS for them to send out letters!

Also there have been instances where they ***ed up on points so if you don’t get in with that many points please call and make sure everything is accurate. There will be two people in this coming class that we’re supposed to be in the last class but they messed up on points so they had to wait!

I am taking micro now!! I would definitely recommend studying for the TEAS just so you’re familiar with the format and types of questions. But it was easier than I thought it would be! Just take a deep breath and take your time with the questions

I did read in last semester’s thread that a few people with 18 or 19 points didn’t get in because they misplaced their application. So they are automatically in this semester unless a spot opened up for the previous cohort. Hopefully this won’t happen again! I honestly am not sure what kind of hell I would raise if that happened ?

I only have 15 points because I scored a 79.3% on my TEAS so... have fun in Nursing school everyone because I won't be getting in with 15 points this semester.

Girl, don’t count yourself out yet! The last two cohorts had a cutoff of 15 points! You could still get in. What’s your GPA?

I have a 3.87 GPA

I’m so upset over this I studied so hard LOL like 15 points is so low I’m an A student and I didn’t even get a B on this test.

Don’t beat yourself up over it! The TEAS is a difficult and tricky test. Your score is actually considered high and a great score. LOL I beat myself up over it when I got my score too. My fingers are crossed, hoping you make it in! We just have to wait for acceptance letters to come in. I think they’ll come in about 3 weeks

I'll be starting the nursing program this Spring (pending no more surprises from the school).. I was one of the unlucky few that was technically accepted for the fall but not assigned a seat because of an error ? ? .. So I am anxiously awaiting the complete acceptance packet and hope the next few weeks go by quickly!! It's been a lonnnng few months LOL!

Good luck everyone!

I don’t know how you did it! And hearing about this scares me that this will happen to me. But I hope it doesn’t. If you don’t mind, how many points did you have and what is your GPA? Did you take this semester off or did you take any classes?

@RN_in_training28

Hopefully it does not happen to you or anyone else! I wish I had followed up more with my application because I had such a terrible gut feeling that something like that would happen. I applied with 19 points and the cutoff was 15 points.. so it was super frustrating to end up on the waitlist.

I took this semester off because I finished up the non-nursing courses for the RN and RN-to-BSN programs last semester.
