For those who are struggling with the exam, I know exactly what you're going through. I graduated 2009 and since then my life has revolved around this ridiculous test. Nclex review after Nclex review, buying more books, another $1000 wasted on after each fail. I'm going to admit that I'm not a very good test taker so it's all on me, but you know what? I found that light at the end of the tunnel. So what did i do differently this time from the previous 4 tries? I stopped reading the book and got Lippincott Nclex book 5,000+ ques. I focused soley on developing critical thinking skills.
My biggest mistake before was using the same CD over and over again (NCLEX4000). There is absolutely no gain in that because you end up memorizing answers. Critical thinking can't be built upon that! I finished the exam w/ 75 questions. Had alot of SATA, no math, one drag and drop, tons of meds and management ques. Before I used to panic on med questions cuz I've never heard of these drugs. My last question ended up being about a med I've never heard of. If u can break down the question and get an answer from it even without knowing anything about the drug, then there's no need to worry.
Sorry if my post is so long. I've been through alot. I do hope I motivated someone out there in the same situation as I am. I'm awaiting for the quick results and look for the pass. I'll be damned to see if I fail on a good popup lol. One more thing? How do I write a care plan? Haha I've been out of school for so long.. you know how they say the longer u wait after graduation the less you retain? It may be true, but I didn't wanna be another statistic and you can still pass. Good luck people.

You have a great testimony, if a system didn't work for you the first time, change the way you studied! Glad you shared!
