Once you finish nursing school and pass boards, your high school GPA really won't matter in the big scheme of things, and it shouldn't keep you from getting a job because getting through the rigors of nursing school and passing boards will pretty much negate it, and I really don't think that employers ever look at your high school GPA, they look at your college GPA and your ability to pass boards.
That said, getting into nursing school with that GPA may prove to be a bit daunting, especially with all of the competition out there right now to get into nursing school. Did you take the ACT or SAT test? Did you get a decent score on either one? If so, I would start there. Apply to nursing schools and, while they will require a copy of your high school transcript and will find out what your GPA was, if you have a decent composite score on either the ACT or the SAT, that may help to get them to look past the GPA.
Good luck to you. If you really feel called to be a nurse, hang in there and keep trying. Talk to the admissions people at some nursing schools, tell them your situation, and ask them what your chances are and what you can do to reach your goal of becoming an RN.

Enroll in your local community college. They will provide you with placement tests and help you build the foundation necessary to succeed in college.
Take a year of foundation and preparatory courses and work your butt off for a year. THEN apply.
