Going to Jails.....for LPN

Hi all,

I'm curious about working in a jail after passing my boards as a LPN. I heard that they pay very well and I would be able to work perdiem (going for the RN ASAP). Does anyone know about this? Has anyone worked a jail before? And what jails are there to work in the New York, New Jersey area?

Hi. Yes there are jails where you can work. Try CMS(Correctional Medical Services), PHS(Prison Health Services) and look in The Cheif newspaper which is sold at any New York Newstand. After I graduate I also want to work in the jails as I used to be a corrections officer in NY

Would they hire new grads w/o exp. except clinical????
