I'm dropping off my resume at the HR of a hospital. Should I be in business attire? I am not applying for a specific job, i just want them to have a hard copy of my resume because i think that would be helpful.

When I did this, I wore business casual (wore business attire minus the suit coat). For interviews, go full out business attire.
Good luck fireline, RN! :)

i wore a suit when i did this in the past. i know the hr secretary does not care, but sometimes dons, future co-workers, and others are in the hr office too for some other reason. you never know if you will end up having to sit down and wait to hand in your resume. during that time frame someone may strike up a conversation with you or be eye-balling from a distance. your very first impression should be to impress him/her. once hired, i wear business casual to the hr department to drop off additional papers or take my employee pre-hire physical. gl!

I would wear the same thing I would wear for an interview. You never know who you're going meet and what's going to happen once you walk in.
I once stopped by a local facility simply to pick up an application form -- it was just one of several errands I was runnning on a day off and I was dressed v. casually. It was a small organization, and the DON happened to hear me requesting the application form from the secretary at the reception desk, stuck her head out of her office, and invited me in. I suddenly found myself interviewing for a job in jeans, t-shirt, and flip-flops, which I obviously would never have done intentionally, but I also couldn't refuse to speak to the DON, could I?? Aaaaaaaaarrrrrgghh!!
Learned my lesson that day -- never gonna take that chance again ...

Black slacks or skirt with white blouse is appropiate. Black shoes with short heel, no open toe or sling backs. Good Luck!
