Going back to school for My NP

Published

Hello,

I have recently applied to NP school, and am looking for advise from other moms returning to school. I picked an online school because I have a small child, and we are actively working on adding to our family. Any advise on how to balance work, family , and school? I have a great support system, but am looking to add to that support network with this community of nurses!

I am not a mom but a dad with children who also works full-time plus. I would advise looking into part time programs. Research the various programs out there and search the posts here for great advice. This community has a lot of experience to draw from. Good luck!

I went back to school with 2 little ones 5 and 3 at the time. My advice is keep your option of going part time or PRN open for the future. Also you will sacrifice time with the family to get school work done and study time. I study at night after the kids are in bed which means I am up at some ungodly hours studying. Also is utilize my family for additional study time. Just know that it will be ok in the end and you will survive...I am surviving lol.

Just my 2cents

Keep your eye on the prize and your feet planted firmly on the ground!!

Thank you both for the advise! Fingers crossed we will all survive this. :)
