I left nursing 3 months ago and resumed an assistant manager position at a company I had worked for in the past. The reason I left nursing is that I did not like where I worked. It was a new clinic that has all the issues that go along with being new. There were quite a few ethical issues as well, of course that is in my opinion. I had broached this subject with the physician in charge only to be chastized. I went to work everyday wondering if this would be the day that my hard earned nursing license would be subject to disciplinary action. I however did purchase malpractice insurance while I worked there for this reason and of course it is always good to have malpractice insurance.
Anyways after 3 months I miss nursing, so I applied at a well known company and had an interview for a clinic float position. The interview went well I was told when their orientations take place and where. I was given their cards if I had any questions I could call. I was shown around the building and so forth. All and all a good interview.
Oh yeah I also have to mention I have worked in a clinic since 1994. I started out as a medical assistant and now am a nurse. So needless to say I have lots of experience ranging from family practice, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, mammography and GI lab starting IV's and monitoring patients post-op.
One of the physicians I used to work for, for 3 years is now practicing with this company and I ran into him during the tour and we stood for a few minutes and talked, he asked how my husband was and if he was still at the same company. We got along well during the time I worked for him and when I left I moved to cardiology to expand my horizons, with no hard feelings.
So anyways keep you fingers crossed for me and send some luck my way:).
Once a nurse always a nurse, its in my blood!

Good luck to you! It sounds like you're very qualified for the job. Maybe being in a different clinic with new people will help. I'm must admit I'm jealous, I would love to work in a clinic, good hours, no holidays. But I'm a new grad so I doubt I could land a position like that. Anyway, best of luck with your new job! Keep us posted on how it goes.

Well, sad to say I did not get the job. The clinic manager told me it came down to me and another person who had worked there before and they offered her the position. She also told me she would like to keep my application so that she may call me when another position comes open. Not sure if she said this to make me feel better or not, but it worked.
I guess I will just keep my eyes open for more job openings. As they say "Patience is a Virtue".
