So I have a question.  Since yuppie scammers can team up forces with homeless addicts and make hundreds of thousands of dollars off of GoFundMe, why can't we do something legitimate?  Like #GoFundMyAchingBack, or #GoFundDavieForArtCollege?  Anyone else have any GoFundMe requests?  Maybe Zucherberg will donate us 0.0001 % of his wealth so we can retire?

Cheers

I've seen plenty of GoFundMe and other crowd funding sites where people are trying to get tuition, weddings, and even veterinary bills paid. Most of them don't seem to have much luck. Remember anything you raise on a crowdfunding site is subject to taxes.

You may be to young to remember this but there was an old television show called "I love Lucy!" in on episode Lucy was trying to get money to pay for her to with her musician husband on tour in Europe. So she bought a television and raffled it off to benefit "The Ladies Overseas Aid." Well she go caught and investigated and the story is really pretty funny.

In my Zombie Apocalypse preparation plan - I would love to build one of those luxury bunkers or strongholds that cost several million dollars so I might do a crowd funding campaign for that. I suppose I'll have to let big donors have a living space as well.

The fact is when people like the couple and their homeless friend set out to scam well meaning people they will often get caught. Karma is one mean mother sometimes....

Well hope you had a laugh

I share a birthday (obvs not the same year ;)) with Lucille Ball...she's one of my comedy inspirations!  I nicknamed my writing muse "Lucy," as she's always got some 'splainin' to do...

My theory on the GoFundMe is that most of them don't succeed, I don't have to give, and while it's unfortunate that the worthy ones (like for medical expenses, etc) even need to exist, it's always my choice to give to them or not.  So ridiculous ones can exist, but I don't worry about it.  Now...leaving that serious note behind, who wants to pay for my MSN tuition?

I've only contributed to GoFundMe when I personally knew the person...and this was several years ago before so many rip offs were exposed.

It is just a joke now.  Too bad, there could be legitimate reasons for a post.
