Glendale Career College ADN program.. Has anyone applied?

Published

I know that it is a new program.. Has anybody attended the info session? Any info would be appreciated.. Thanks!

Specializes in GENERAL.

I only have a few questions. The "career college" designation freaks me out though.

1. How much does this for-profit cost and are they going to loan you up to your eyeballs to pay for it?

2. Are they going to require a signed "arbitration" agreement from you as a condition of enrollment? Signing this little ditty will be tantamount to shooting yourself in the foot as it will effectively negate your right to sue them in a court of law and be heard by a jury of your peers when you find out they suck.

In arbitration the bad guys win, you loose.

3. This school may be too new to look up on (collegescorecard.ed.gov), but look up some of the other for-profits like South University and University of Phoenix to see how low their graduation and retention rates are as well as being expensive.

And the joke is they are accredited too.

Go to a community college and take the prerequisites first (at a fraction of the cost) and get your academic feet wet.

Don't let some sales chump at some for-profit masquerading as an academic advisor sell you down the river with a smile and a handshake.

There are so many better more affordable options that won't destroy your young life with back breaking loans.

Just take your time, make your plans methodically and know in this life you must be your own best friend before you can even begin to help others.

I recently attended their info session in November very friendly staff. I fell in love with their lab! The school is very nice inside. I know of two people currently in their nursing program and they both speak highly of the school. I've heard nothing but good things highly educated instructors from West Coast and Mount Saint Mary's. They start with 40 something students and only the top 30 make it into the nursing. From what I hear they are selective with their candidates. The school requires you to take the TEAS. They have a really cool SIMS lab, something I've never seen before. Worth checking them out.
